Ronald D. Rohlfs' Obituary
Ronald D. Rohlfs was born in Caro, Michigan on September 7, 1945 as the first born son of Gleason D. Rohlfs and Julia B. Rohlfs. His early years were spent on the family farm until 1957 at the age of 11 when he moved overseas with his family due to his father’s position as a Foreign Service Officer with the State Department. Over the next decade he lived with his family in Seoul, South Korea and Teheran, Iran. While in Korea, at the age of 19, he joined the US Air Force. Ron retired after 30 years, with both Active Duty and Reserve Service. His military assignments took him to England, Lybia, Italy, Iraq and multiple US Bases. He also retired from Civil Service as an Egress Technician.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Art and Kim as well as his parents. He is survived by his wife Pam, his children Micheal, Josh and Amanda, his mother-in-law Charlotte, his sister Sophia, nine grandchildren, and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews, and his best friend of over 40 years, Scotty.
Ron loved traveling with his family in his RV and going on cruises. He loved his dogs and cats. His travels took him all over the US and the world. He was a member of American Legion Post #140. The family requests donations be sent to the American Legion Post #140.
A memorial service will be 9am, Friday, December 27, 2024 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
