Ron was a good friend and I would enjoy seeing him at various places, especially at our mutual Pythian Lode #26 of Knights of Pythias fraternal Lodge. Ron did a lot of good worthy projects for the Lodge and kids and the community at-large. Condolences to the family.

I served as City Manager of Longview during most of Ron’s tenure as City Councilman. He was a dedicated, honest and effective elected official. It was a pleasure to serve with him. Ray Jackson. My prayers for his family.
Your father was one of the kindest and sweetest men I’ve ever met. I first met he and your mother when they attended a performance at Longview Community Theatre that I was a part of the cast. They were both so complimentary and delightful. I saw them many more times through the years at church and they even attended my wedding. He was a precious soul that made everyone feel welcomed and important.
Praying for all of you during this time. I am so thankful to have met both of your parents. They were a joy!
Lots of good memories of Mr. McCutcheon since LBBA and especially the golf course.

Lee and Bubba. Cheri let me know about your dad’s passing. Your mom and dad were the center of our neighborhood. I remember the parties they hosted. When we moved there in 1981, they were the first to welcome us to the neighborhood. Such a lovely couple.

I am so sorry to hear of your Dads passing. He was so sweet to Calvin when they were in Trevisio together! That was a sweet memory of both of them together. I am TRULY sorry for your loss, such a sweet man.

Rachel and I sorrow with you over the loss of Mr. McCutcheon. What a wonderful man. He always had a kind word, a funny story, or a quick remark. I will never forget him, and I am so grateful my path crossed his. He was our go-to guy when our neighborhood gang could not decide which hand was the winning hand in our poker game, or when we wanted to hear a funny Navy story, go play golf, or play catch in the McCutcheon front yard. In later years Rachel and I enjoyed running into him when taking a walk in the neighborhood, or stopping by his house to replenish my supply of golf balls. He was a great example to all of us, and will be missed. Hold on to all of your good memories, and look forward to reuniting with him in the future.

Ron was my big brother, much admired for his leadership of the Circleville gang, a cohort of teenage boys who played ball together in the late forties in the small town where we grew up. He was the catcher, the manager, and the acknowledged leader of the group. Because of him I inherited a bag full of sporting equipment, bats, balls, even a football helmet and some football cleats. Later, it was a big thrill on rare occasions when he came home on leave from the Navy. When he left the Navy he was home for a short while then decided to go to Atlanta to be near our dad. The rest is history, as they say. As an adult I exchanged phone calls with him once in awhile and visited him twice while he was in Atlanta and a couple of times after he moved to Longwood. Talking with him was always a great deal of fun. He was a never-ending source of amusement, even when I was the butt of his limitless supply of jokes. On those infrequent times when we talked I could share with him stories about people and places "back home" that we both knew about. He was a fine person, and will be greatly missed.
