Funeral services for Ronald D. Hammett will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Abundant Life Church of Gladewater. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 ~ 7:00 PM at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Hammett passed to be with his Lord and Savior on June 14, 2024, in Longview surrounded by his family.
Ronnie was born in Yates Center, Kansas, on January 7, 1933, to parents Roger Hammett Sr. and Leona Hammett. Shortly after they moved to Greenwood, La. where he was raised. Ronnie loved his friends and never met a stranger and carried a great amount of pride and love of work. Despite a passion for his work, Ronnie was a living testament to the grace and healing of Christ. God healed him miraculously from multiple heart attacks; eventually passing from just the old age of 91. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Helen Faye Hammett and son Ronald Dean Hammett Jr.
Ronnie’s memories will be cherished by his beloved family and all who called him Pa Paw, children Billy Wayne Hammett of Jesup, Ga and Roger Lee Hammett of Gladewater; grandchildren Michael, Ron, Brandon, Charles, Cameron, Robin and Alyssa; granddaughter-in-laws Brandi Hammett, Hazel Hammett and Destiny Hammett. Many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren he loved and cherished.
