Roger L. Otis' Obituary
Roger L. Otis was born at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas on June 19, 1960. He died on August 22, 2016 in Longview, Texas. Roger was well known in the community and worked a wide variety of jobs, from owning a full service gas station to his last job in the East Texas Oil Field.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Bud” Otis and Leta Otis. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Buck and Nancy Otis of Longview, and stepmother Betty Otis of Tyler, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 27, at Old Tyme Baptist Church in White Oak (on the corner of George Richey Rd and Stacy St. ½ mile east of White Oak Rd.) a visitation will be held at 1 PM prior to the service at the church. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rama Koya and staff for their care during his illness. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Page, Gary Page, Clay Tate, Richard Werline, James Richey, Chuck Thornton, Bert King, Rick Poland, Terry Ford, and Larry Kaplan.
