Roger McKay's Obituary
Funeral services for Roger McKay, 57, of Longview will be 4 PM Tuesday at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Darby and Rev. Mike Maxwell officiating. Burial will be 1 PM Wednesday at Romance Cemetery in Romance, Arkansas.
Mr. McKay died Sunday morning, August 8, 2004, at a local hospital. He was born December 1, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and was a long-time resident of Longview. He was a hairdresser and owned and operated the Creative Images Beauty Shop. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hallsville. Roger raised and showed Australian shepherds and was a board member of the United States Australian Shepherd Association.
He is survived by his wife, Jill McKay; daughter, Meredith Norton Lucas and husband, John of Graham, TX; grandsons: Jack and Rob; sisters, Jonell Townsend of Rosebud, AR and Billie Jean McCann of Datto, AR; brothers, Melvin McKay of Whitney, TX and Dewayne McKay of Datto, AR and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Howell, Gene Jordan, Jr., Mike Northcutt, Larry Martin, Mel Reynolds, and Mike Eberhart.
The family requests that those who desire may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, First Methodist Church of Hallsville, or to a favorite charity.
