Roger Earl Black's Obituary
Roger Earl Black, 73, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Longview, surrounded by his family. Mr.
Black was born Feb. 2, 1953 in Hot Springs, Ar to E.E. & Frances Berry Black. Roger was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Roger loved the outdoors and spent many hours in the deer stand searching for the perfect deer. He was an active member of Calvary Tabernacle for more than 50 years. He also had a passion for classic cars, telling jokes, and good BBQ “carters” He was self employed most of his life and owned/operated Jack N Jill Donuts, Roger’s Septic Tank Cleaning & Charlies Trading Post. Our hearts are hurting but we know that he is no longer suffering and is in his Heavenly Home where he longed to go.
Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents, Patsy Kern (sister) Rickey Black (brother) Christoper Black (son). Mr. Black is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marilyn Black, Daughter Amanda Scott & husband, Russell, of Longview, one very special grandson William Scott of Longview, Brother Randy Black of Silsbee, Sister-in-law Diana Black of Longview, Sister-in-law Darlene Grant of McFarland, Wi, Brother & Sister-in-law Rix & Carolyn Bussey of Longview Beloved neighbor & friend Billie Bell “Aunt Bee” & a slew of nieces & nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum at 2:00 PM. A time of fellowship and visitation will be held the hour preceding the service from 1:00-2:00 PM. Roger will be laid to rest at Rosewood Park
