Robin Tompkins' Obituary
Robin Tompkins, 85, of Longview, TX, died suddenly on Friday, February 22, 2019.
Robin lived each day of her life for her family, whether it was raising her children while living in Ware Acres in Longview, TX; spending quality time going to lunch with her aunts in Sonoma, CA; attending family dinners/bbqs in Sonoma, CA; hosting her annual Christmas party in Sonoma, CA, for over 80 friends & family members; then later in life, returning to Longview, TX, to be close to her granddaughter.
Her family will be accepting visitors on Tuesday, February 26, at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, TX, from 4 – 6 p.m. At a later date, there will be a private family internment at Waldrop Cemetery near Beckville, TX.
Robin was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Tompkins, originally of Beckville, TX; her parents, Robert and Helen Lapov; many aunts and uncles in California and her uncle, Daniel Lapov, of Bethesda, MD.
Robin is survived by her daughter, Casandra Tompkins, of Carlsbad, CA, and Her son, Robbie (Wendy) Tompkins of Gilmer, TX: and her granddaughter, Brooke Tompkins, of Gilmer, TX.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Louise Tompkins of Boerne, TX; her aunts in Sonoma, CA, Olga Krnich and Celia Grgich; her Aunt Rajica Lapov in Bethesda, MD; and special family friends, Billy and Winky Foote.
Robin was a longtime member of Wesley-McCabe United Methodist Church, raising her children there & returning there after retiring in Sonoma, CA, for several years. Robin was retired from Entex Gas Co./Centerpoint.
Her family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude's Childrens’ Fund or to the church or charity of your choice.
