Robie Faye Waldrop Bardwell
Robie Faye Waldrop Bardwell was born April 9, 1941, in Newton, MS and passed away on September 14, 2016, in Longview, TX surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Betty Marie Waldrop, as well as her parents, Roby and Marie Waldrop.
She moved to Longview in 1958, after graduating from Newton High School in Newton, MS. She later attended Kilgore College where she studied business. After college, Faye worked for Gregg County Precinct 2 Judge McKinney. She went to work for Sweetex Credit Union and later became manager of T & P Federal Credit Union, where she retired after 25 years of service. She met and fell in love with her husband Gary upon moving to Longview and they were happily married for 55 years.
There was nothing Faye loved more than grabbing a Starbucks Coffee and browsing the thrift stores, where everybody knew her name. She was a very loving and giving person and loved to help others.
Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Gary Bardwell; daughters, Lynn Powell and husband Clay, Sheila Blasingame and husband Kevin, and Sherry Vickers; 6 grandchildren, Julia Stephenson and husband Chase, Jennifer Powell, Ashley Blasingame, Christin Blasingame, Josh Vickers and wife Jessica, and Kasey Vickers; 2 great grandchildren, Garrett Stephenson and Taken Vickers; sister, Martha Thrash; and her cherished 4 legged companion, Chico.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Winterfield United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Winterfield Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Winterfield United Methodist Church, 2616 Tryon Rd., Longview, TX 75605.
