Roberta was born and raised in Goldthwaite TX. She attended Tarleton State University and received her Bachelor of Music degree from North Texas State University. During her college career, she sang with various college groups performing in USO programs for our WWII troops.
In 1946, Roberta married Hester Michalek and resided in Bishop TX. She began a teaching career which lasted for 34 years, specializing in music and elementary education. She taught in Bishop, Spring Branch, Katy, and Richardson school districts. Having a gifted voice, she sang for countless weddings and various occasions.
Roberta is preceded in death by her husband Hester. She has one son, Dave Michalek, three grandchildren: Nicole Dube, Coby Michalek and, Kacie Michalek. She has also been blessed with three great- grandchildren, Weston and Emerson Dube and Elijah Michalek.
Roberta loved to worship, study and teach others about her Lord. She did so at both Westminster Bible Church and First United Methodist. Being a woman of amazing faith we know that she is now dancing with Jesus!
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 15th at Westminster Bible Church in Henderson, Texas. There will be no formal family visitation prior to the service, however, friends are welcome to call or come by the home of Dave and Leigh Ann Michalek.
