Funeral services for Robert Wesley Wilson, 68, of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Scott Schulik officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Park. He passed away Thursday, August 5, 2004 at his residence.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 8, at the funeral home.
Mr. Wilson was born July 28, 1936 in Longview to Luther and Ruth Wilson, where he was a lifetime resident. He was worked for Texas Eastman for 33 years, retiring in 1990. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He attended Mobberly Baptist Church. He was a beloved father and grandfather, and adored his children. He was also a friend to many people.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson Hunter Wilson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Karla Smith of Longview; son Keith Wilson of Kilgore; grandchildren, Heather and Hailey Smith and Robert and Chase Wilson; special companion, Sandy Withers and her children, Stephanie and Bryan Griffin; and his beloved dog ?Jake?.
