Robert Keith Sheppard's Obituary
Robert K. (Bob) Sheppard went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 11, 2024. Born on April 23, 1953, Bob was a devoted husband, father, and follower of Christ. His witty sense of humor could bring a smile to anyone, and his greatest pride was in his beloved wife and the children he raised to follow the Lord. His family always came first, and he dedicated his life to service and love for God.
Bob found joy in the simple things, such as fishing on the White River at Calico Rock, spending time with family, and coaching his son in baseball. His retirement years were spent happily caring for his grandchildren, Cy and Cara, and enjoying his love for hotrods, and art. A talented artist, he painted murals at his church and schools, carved canes for family members, and sketched portraits, including one of his beloved dog.
On November 4, 1978, Bob married the love of his life, Nedda Jean Nelson, at Calvary Baptist Church in Henderson, TX. They shared nearly 47 wonderful years together. He was often found sitting on his porch with his two dogs, Cyann and Pepper, enjoying the outdoors.
Bob is survived by his wife, Nedda Nelson Sheppard, his son, David Keith Sheppard and wife, Heather Ann Sheppard, his daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Sheppard, and his two grandchildren, Cy and Cara Sheppard. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Ellison, his dogs, Pepper Ann and Cyann, and many extended family members, including Shara Hughes, Bill Taylor, Wynters Cate, Paula Wells, and Debbie Sims.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sheppard and Dorothy Toler, his in-laws, Bess Land and Norris D. Nelson, his brother, Gene Slaughter and wife Nanette, and his sisters, Ginger Taylor and Betty Perry, along with their husbands, Ron Taylor and Ronnie Perry.
Bob's life was a testament to his faith, and he would want all who knew him to feel the peace that comes from knowing Jesus as their personal Savior.

"When you see a fish jump,
a dragonfly in the sky,
hear the crack of the bat,
or a hotrod rumbling by,
or notice the colors change in the fall
remember Bob gave it his ALL
