The Colonel was my leader during my enlistment in 87'. A fond memory that stays in my mind to this day occurred one day while in the field....One day while on a field excersise, I was staring at a 500 lb+ roll of rubber from a section of our CSH; it needed to be relocated to a different location, but, there were no other soldiers around to help. In my young mind, I thought, no problem, I'll roll it myself.... when I began to try and roll it, the Colonel came out of nowhere; he stated sternly "private, what do you think your doing? Get some help for Pete's sake"..... he's a great man.... I'm privileged to have him as my leader....

I am saddened to learn of Bob's passing. There are many fond memories, Cindy, but what stands out most is how you were his everything, and he yours. Please accept our heartfelt condolences and please feel some comfort knowing the impact this man had on so many in our ranks. Colonel Bob Romines leadership and values are ingrained in those who served for him and with him. We are all the better from simply sharing a small part of his life with us. To this day, we all love to tell stories of COL Romines, a true legacy of his impact! I was honored to serve under him as a Company Commander and in the reenlistment of his son. Cindy and Bob always held their door open to us for hospitality and mentorship and will remain the example for so many officers and their wives still serving today. Cindy and family....so very sorry to hear of your loss and of Bob's passing. Bob was not only a great soldier, but an even greater American. We agreed to disagree many years ago when he was my assignment officer over an assignment to the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency and as it turned out it ended up being one om my greatest assignments. He was a tremendous mentor to me and many other young officers and he had much to do with any success I may have had in my career. Cindy and family: My deepest condolences and sympathy for the loss of Bob. Bob and I went to Warrant Office Flight School about the same time, and accepted our Direct Commissions to the Medical Service Corps at the same time. I was honored to serve with Bob in Military Science Division. I marveled at his ability to teach difficult subjects and still interject that famous "Bob Romines Humor." I followed his military career with great admiration and respect through the years. I learned of Bob's passing while on-line reading the Dustoff Site and learned that Bob filed his final Flight Plan on March 29, 2010. Lynn and I shall miss him. Vios Con Dios mi Amigo.

I flew crash rescue with Bob at Ft Wolters when he was a LT. A great pilot and a capable sparring partner, over the bridge table, playing dominoes, or just arguing about whether the sun would come up tomorrow. We stayed in touch for 40 years on this earth, and will hopefully meet again. An enjoyable â??in your faceâ? guy, who is now in our hearts.

I was saddened to hear the passing of Mr. Romines. It was truly a great honor to know him. I hope in some small measure that I was able to give him service to repay the service that he gave so willingly to his country.
