I have known Bob for so many years that I can't count them. First in the Camera Shop on Fredonia Street, downtown Longview. Hal Orgain owned the shop previously, and I knew him also. Both men were always ready to help me with whatever i needed in the store. That's the kind of gentlemen they were. I appreciated the fact that Bob once developed some old negatives of my family. He was the only one who could do that. I will always cherish those pictures and appreciate his doing it for me. To shop in the new store close to Albertson's was always a delight for me. Bob was always cheerful, and Betty could find a card that exactly expressed my feelings. I was sad whe they had to close the store. I have prayed for Bob through his health issues but was out of town for both the visitation and his memorial service. I'm sorry that I could not be present. I will miss him too. God bless you Betty. I am deeply sorry for your loss. The Camera Shop and Bob were a staple for me for years. I first met Bob when I shopped at the store downtown. I followed when your store moved on the Loop by Albertsons. I remember fondly shopping for gifts, cards and collectibles. Bob was always friendly and helpful. It was also my pleasure to get to know you. He was a wonderful man and I know you will miss him. I know I will also. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Mrs. Rodgers-- I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved working with you both at the Camera Shop during my school breaks in college where one break, I worked to buy a camera Mr. Rodgers helped me pick out. Recently, my daughter needed a film camera for a photography class in college and I was so glad to share the fabulous camera he chose for me with her (someone who has taken the hobby much further than I ultimately did). She has loved learning to use it and I thought of you both fondly as we pulled it out and got it ready for her to use. Our deepest condolences to you and the whole family. Dear Sweet Betty. I miss you and Bob so much. I’m thinking of you and your family and will keep you in my prayers during this difficult time.
Bob was such a prankster and played a few on me over the years. But one of the best was when he helped me play one on my brother Tommy. Do you remember when he let me borrow the leather case and box for the expensive camera lens that Tommy was drooling over at Christmas so I could fool my brother? It was so much fun and Bob and I laughed about that for years! Bob was such a wonderful friend and we will all miss him dearly. I love you Betty and pray for comfort for you and your family always. I remember Bob from the camera shop when I was in my 20's, he was always very friendly and gave excellent advice on anything relating to Photography,

Bob was truly a great personality. He always had a story and a smile. His easy-going style lured me deeper and deeper into my photography delinquency. He always had the right stuff on the shelf to make my dreams. I took at least two classes over the years that he instructed. Most of my knowledge about the hobby came from him. More than anything else it was fun just dropping into his shop and swapping stories. So long man, and because and check your f-stop.
