Robert Louis May
Robert Louis May,75, of White Oak, Texas, passed away February 9, 2014. Bob was
born December 7, 1938, in Wyoming, Pennsylvania. He graduated from William
Penn High School in New Castle, Delaware, in 1956 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in
1958. During his military career, he was attached to NAS Miramar, NAS Lemoore and
NAS Pt. Mugu. He retired as a Master Chief in 1980 after serving 22 years.
After retirement, Bob worked for the Boeing Company for several years in
Lemoore, Calif. He was a lifetime member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch
261 in Lemoore and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4002 in Longview, Texas. Bob
enjoyed fishing and camping but most of all spending time with his many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his Father, Walter Wilson May; mother, Olive May;
stepfather, Albert Reeder; and brother, Richard May.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Bolt and husband, Jason Bolt, of
White Oak, Texas; brothers, Russell May and wife, Judy, Butch May and Raymond
May and wife, Sharon; sisters, Bonnie Fulton and husband, Corby and Iris Weaver and husband,
Mark, all of Delaware and Janice Eulitz of Florida; granddaughters, Jessica Altman
and husband, Luke, of Gilmer, Texas, and Katie Williamson of White Oak, Texas; grandsons, Dalton
Warren and Daniel Williamson of White Oak, Texas; great-granddaughter, Addison Altman; longtime
friend, Audree Fuchs of White Oak, Texas; stepchildren, Robert Connelly of Athol, Idaho, and Cathleen
May of El Cajon, California; many nieces and nephews; and many friends who loved
him like family. He will be missed greatly.
A memorial gathering will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014, at the Fleet Reservation
Branch 261 in Lemoore, Calif.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
