Robert H. (Bob) Looney III's Obituary
Mr. Robert H. (Bob) Looney III passed away at his home in Henderson Texas on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the age of 76.
Bob was born in San Antonio, Texas May 22, 1939. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Bob enlisted into the United States Army in January of 1958, entering in Dallas, TX and served for 3 years. Notable accomplishments were the Provost Marshal General’s School, military police training and receipt of the Army Occupation Medal for service in Berlin Germany. He also qualified as Expert on the Browning Automatic Rifle and marksman for both pistol and rifle. Bob concluded his service from the United States Army while assigned to the 12th Cave, CCA, 1st Armored Division, Ft. Hood, TX as a Private First Class in January 1958 with an Honorable Discharge due to expiration of term of service.
Bob retired from the United States Postal Service after working 24 years as a rural postal carrier in Henderson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Robert H. Looney II and Dorothy Gary Looney.
He is survived by his wife Syble of 27 years and his sister Sue.
Bob is remembered by his wife Syble of Henderson, sister Sue Armiger and husband Gene of Fort Worth; step daughters Susy Davis and husband Danny, Diane Oslund and husband Gene, and Audrey Chandler and husband Kevin along with loving step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home, 800 Kilgore Drive, Henderson, Texas 75652 on December 28, 2015 from 12:30 to 1:30PM.
A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Henderson Texas on December 28, 2015 at 2:00PM with Bro. Michael Cary officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Baptist at 1100 Kilgore, Henderson, Texas 75652.
