So sorry for your loss

David and Danny - we're very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. We pray God's blessings on you both and all who loved and supported Mr. LaBay.
David & Talitha Thompson

We bought our house from them in 1965, resulting in a lifelong friendship. We stayed in touch throughout the years, sharing joys and sorrows. I will miss this dear friend.
The first time I met my Uncle Bobby was after my Dad Elliott, Bob's oldest brother returned from WWII about 1945. Dad wanted to re-connect with his family and I think this was also the first time he met his younger brother. Unfortunately due to geography and everyday life I guess, we didn't get to see him again until years later. I really never got the chance to know my Uncle Bobby until we visited him and Sue a few years ago. The warm welcoming gentle man who was so happy to see us and welcome us and take us into his heart makes me wish even more that we had taken the time to really get to be family over all those years. He was the patriarch on my father's side of the family and now I find myself the oldest. I only hope that by keeping him always in my heart and with the guidance of his warmth and gentle ways and his good humor and openness I can stand for as much honor in our family as he did. I will miss him and the way he really loved to visit on the phone and our long conversations, he gave me stories that filled in missing parts of our family history and that enables me to update some of my dad's stories to include the Texas branch. Family is important for our feeling of connectedness and I felt as close to him and as much love from him as from the uncles who got to be there my whole life. He was amazing in the way he made you feel you had always been a part of his life, though our time was too brief it was priceless to me I thank him for being my uncle I am so very blessed to have known him.
