Robert Henry Friedel III's Obituary
Robert Friedel was born June 1, 1960 in Victoria, Texas. He passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at a local hospice facility in Longview, Texas from cancer. He was 50 years old. Robert lived in Longview for 35 years, graduated from Pine Tree High School and worked at Made-Rite Co. during high school, and worked for Norris Cylinders for 20 years until he retired. In spite of his physical obstacles, he maintained a cheerful and attitude. He never knew a stranger and liked to visit with everyone. When he could, he loved fishing and golfing. He loved watching sports on TV especially with his father and brother-in-law. His favorite teams were the Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas University. Robert also enjoyed going to work out with his friends at the Courthouse Athletic Club. Robert and Jana were members of the First United Methodist Church in Longview, and were members of the Great Expectations Sunday school class. Robert is survived by his with, Jana Johnson Friedel, his parents; Mary and Bob Friedel of Longview; his sisters, Lizanne and her husband Johnny Allen of Mansfield, Texas; and Jeannie Gesford of Longview and many nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be at the First Methodist Church in Longview at 2:00pm on July 29, 2010 under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview and officiated by Rev. Mike Shutz. Interment will follow at Laneville Cemetery in Laneville, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the funeral home.
