Robert Glenn ?Bob? Cooper
Graveside services for Robert Glenn ?Bob? Cooper, 81, of Harleton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Grace Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Leonard Nichols officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He died Tuesday, February 24, in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the funeral home.
Mr. Cooper was born September 16, 1922 in La Camp, Louisiana to Robert and Mary Cooper. He was involved in the restaurant business most of his life, and prior to his retirement in 1984, was manager and part owner of the Tejas Village at the Lake O? The Pines. He served in the Army Corp of Engineers in the Philippine Islands in WWII. He was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Cooper was and active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Harleton, Texas, and served as a deacon and Sunday School Director.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Sybil Cooper; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Ima Jean Hawley; 2 grandsons, Michael Hawley and Wade Hawley; and 1 great granddaughter, Sydney Hawley; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church building fund, P.O. Box 480, Harleton, Texas 75651.
