Robert Code Witherspoon's Obituary
Services for Robert Code Bob Witherspoon, 69, of Longview will be at 10 AM Monday, April 18, 2005 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Emmitt Barrow officiating. Mr. Witherspoon died Friday, April 15, 2005 in a Longview hospital. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Sunday evening at the funeral Home.
Mr. Witherspoon was born to Code and Dessie Stowe Witherspoon in Marshall, Texas on February 19, 1936. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and the University of Houston. Mr. Witherspoon honorably served his country for 20 years in the US Air Force before becoming a teacher for Houston I.S.D. He was married to Sharon Grant in 1984 and they moved to Longview in 1996.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 daughter, Kelli Witherspoon Edwards.
He is survived by his wife Sharon; 2 sons: Toby Witherspoon of Kilgore, and Mark Witherspoon of Longview; daughter Jodi Witherspoon of Arlington; step-daughter Roxanne Huffman of Elkhart, IN; 3 sisters: Charleen Carrington of Marshall, Allie Edens and Georgie Strong of Houston; 4 grandchildren: Charla Hodge, Andrea Jordan, Lynnsey Edwards, and Austin Witherspoon; and 5 great-grandchildren.
