Robert Anthony "Bob" Chucci's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Anthony Chucci, known to friends as Bob, announces his passing on May 6, 2018 in Hallsville, TX at the age of 67 years old after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 30, 1951 in Bethesda, Maryland to Leola Tapelt Chucci and Guddie Anthony Chucci.
Mr. Chucci was a humble veteran of the United States Air Force. He received his undergraduate degree of education at East Texas State University before beginning his career as an industrial arts teacher for over thirty years, 26 years at Hallsville High School. During his career he received numerous awards including Teacher of the Year Award and Hallsville Community Builder Award as well as being instrumental in bringing the automotive tech program to the school. Bob also worked to beautifully restore furniture and began his own company, Chucci’s Rod and Custom, restoring antique cars and building custom street and hot rods. He also proudly served on the Hallsville Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years.
Bob had a gift for serving others through his hard work and will be remembered as someone who loved working on old cars, had a passion for woodworking, home remodeling and construction. He loved helping and teaching kids and was an active church and community member.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Linda Clark Chucci. Bob will be forever remembered by his loving wife Nora and his two sons Tony Chucci and Keith (Kerri) Chucci, his grandsons Jack, Henry and Luke Chucci, his step children, Tommy (Dee) Motley, Teri (Joe) Zanti, Tim (Julie) Motley , and Traci Cohen and his step-grandchildren Melvin, Shane, Brandon, Corey, Meredith, Christopher, Rebecca and Gabrielle.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at the Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. in Longview on Friday evening, May 11, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 2105 E. Loop 281 in Longview conducted by Bro. Charles T. Hunt, Bro. Kason Kuykendall and Bro. Aaron Perkins. Hallsville Volunteer Fire Department will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery on Willow St. Since Bob took great pride in his restoration of old and antique cars, we invite those with one to drive it in the procession to the cemetery.
