Mr. Leverett passed away Sunday in Tyler. Mr. Leverett was born in Ranger, Texas on March 16, 1931. He had been a resident of Tyler since 1984. Mr. Leverett was retired from Haliburton Logging Company where he was a division manager.
Mr. Leverett was also a veteran having served in the U.S.Navy.
He was devoted to his family, who benefited from his hard work ethic, silent strength, never-ending forgiveness, and dry sense of humor. His greatest joy was his family who learned from him to be independent, loyal, honest, and joyful. Some of his greatest joys were the Rocky Mountains where he enjoyed shoveling mounds of snow from frequent winter storms, watching hummingbirds in his garden, daily long walks often with a friendly dog, and his life-long suffering devotion to the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers who still don?t have any pitchers, according to him. He was a builder and an artist and a person loved by many people. He was lovingly known as Dad, Poppy, Pawpaw, Brother, and Friend.
The family would like to express its sincerest appreciation to Dr. Neil Adelman and the entire staff at Heart to Heart Hospice, whose caring and compassionate support enabled him to live the end of his life with the dignity and respect that he deserved.
