Robert Alan Bruyere's Obituary
Robert Alan Bruyere “Poppy” was born on August 16, 1935, in Kilgore, Texas and passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026. He celebrated his 90th birthday this past August.
Robert graduated from Longview High School and Texas A&M University with a degree in petroleum engineering. He worked for Sun Oil Company many years in South Texas, Houston, and Venezuela. He returned to Longview as an independent petroleum engineer.
He is preceded in death by his precious wife of 62 years, Blanche “Bebe.” Those left to cherish his memory are son Clint (Jamye), Craig (Krista), and Cris (Sara); grandchildren Bo (Amy), Alexis (Dustin), Julianna (Chris) Cristopher, and Blake (Baily); great-grandchildren Gracie, Allie Kate, Brylee, Bivins, Hudson, and Emma; Bebe’s “sisters” Gayle and Decie, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Robert is also preceded in death by his mother and father, Annette and Bolton Bruyere and his siblings Bubba, Marilyn, Tom, Milton, and David.
His family and friends loved and appreciated his generosity, sharp wit and cooking.

Services will be held April 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel.
