Robert "Bob" Lee Wylie's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Lee Wylie went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the age of 89.
He was born to Walter Wylie and Vera Mae (Allison) Wylie on November 11, 1928 in Crowley, Texas.
Bob graduated from Cal Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering, from UCLA with a degree in industrial engineering, and SMU with a degree in electric engineering. He married his wife of 38 years, Margaret “Anne” Wylie on May 22, 1980. They have called Tatum, Texas their home for over 25 years.
Bob was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where he was saved. It took his wife, Anne, many years of ministering to him, but when he finally was saved, he was all in and so proud!
Bob joined the Navy and served his Country. After the War, Bob applied and received Naval Pilot training in Florida, and he earned his wings in 1946. After earning his wings, he went on to fly as a member of the “Blue Angels”. He was in the Navy until he was medically wounded in the Korean War and retired.
Bob was a very intelligent man with a lot of great stories. Over the years he had worked for Bonanza Airlines and Bell Helicopter Co. Bob’s love for flying was always a topic of conversation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Anne” Wylie; father, Walter Wylie; mother, Vera Wylie; sisters, Helen McAdams and Annette Harden; son, Butch Wylie; daughter, Debbie Wylie, and step-son, Charles “Sean” Talley
He is survived by his step-daughter, Lisa Groves and Mark Groves; daughter-in-law, Lisa Talley; brother, Dean Wylie and Nita Wylie; sisters, Teresa Myers and Shirley Adams; brother-in-law, Ronnie Franklin and Shirley Wills; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many other loving family and friends.
The funeral will be Friday, September 28, 2018 at Lakeview Baptist Church at 2:00 PM and officiated by Pastor Ted White. A graveside service will follow at the Tatum Cemetery.
