Robert Allan Brown's Obituary
Robert Allan Brown
Robert Allan Brown passed away in the early morning of July 5th in Tucson, Arizona. Originally from Longview, and a resident of Longview for the vast majority of his life, Robert Allan moved to Tucson three years ago to be closer to his family. As a young man he attended the University of Texas where he earned a law degree and then became a member of the Texas Bar. His working life was focused in the oil and gas industry of East Texas. He served honorably in the United States Navy and viewed this service as one of his most important contributions in life.
Robert Allan leaves behind many dear friends in Longview as well as in Tucson. Those who got to know him soon came to love him. He was a straight-shooter with a sense of humor and a sensitive soul. An accomplished pianist and violinist, many of his friends were musicians. He loved to travel in Mexico and was never at a loss to name a song for the mariachis. He added enormously to all our lives with his colorful stories, quick wit, kind heart and grateful spirit. He will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 17, 2004 at 2:00 PM with a reception following at the Summit Club from 3-5 PM. The family invites his Longview friends to join them in remembering a man who touched many just by being himself perfectly. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to a charity of your choice.
Rader Funeral Home of Longview is in charge of local arrangements.
