Robbie "Cotton" Works' Obituary
Robbie “Cotton” Works was born on June 10, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to L.E. and Louise Works. Cotton ascended to heaven early Sunday morning on November 20, 2022. Cotton loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and golf. He also loved horses, rodeos, and wearing that old beat-up cowboy hat. He never left without his hat. Cotton was a 30-year foreman for Stewart Construction, inside Texas Eastman. He retired in 1996. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
Cotton is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Works, and their children. Daughter Cheryl Harrison and husband Bill. Daughter Rhonda Moseley and husband Tommy. Daughter Angela Cole and husband Elijah. Lovingly adopted son William Axenfield and husband Stephen. His brother Dewey “Squeaky” Works and wife Pam. Sister Pat Pelham and husband Marvin. Sister Phyllis Capps and husband Mike. Sister Sally Woods and husband John. Many nieces and nephews. Grandchildren include Stacy Tidwell, Joseph McCartney, Christopher McCartney, Matthew McCartney, Makena Futrell, Tommy Moseley III, and multiple great grandchildren.
Cotton is preceded in death by Father Loyal Edward “L.E.” Works. Mother Emma Louise Works. Brothers James “Buzzy” Works, Johnny Works, and Danny “Bodie” Works. Sisters Judy Cato, Frieda Dennis, and Rene Young.
You are our husband, our daddy, our brother, and our friend. You will forever be in our hearts. We love you always.
Funeral services will be 10 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Interment will follow the service at Memory Park in Longview. There will be a time of viewing Tuesday evening, November 22, 2022, 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.
