Robbie Kim Dimond's Obituary
Robbie Kim Dimond was welcomed to her eternal home on the morning of Wednesday, February 19, 2014.
Kim will be remembered by all that knew and loved her as a bright light, bringing her beautiful smile and wonderful brand of energy to any and all she met.
Her journey began in Tyler, Texas, born September 9, 1960 to Mary Lou Scroggins. Grandparents Grace and Oddy Hicks were beloved by Kim and played a big part in her upbringing. Graduating from Brownsboro, Texas High School in 1978 Kim had been a majorette and continued to twirl as a Cardette at Henderson County Junior College. She stayed in contact with many of the friends she met during her early years and loved any social opportunity to gather with them.
In 1985, Kim met the love of her life, John Winstanley Dimond IV and they married in 1987. Loving and pouring herself into being a homemaker, the couple welcomed children Jack in 1989, Cameron in 1991, and Chase in 1998.
It could be said of Kim that she loved the Lord and loved her family and loved her friends with great passion. Active as an Elder and in a multitude of other service areas to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Longview, Kim did not tire of doing for others. Generosity was a hallmark of her character and gift giving was her “love language.” Her generosity of spirit extended to those struggling and she was always a friend to the least and lost. Kim served her Lord through work with Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network and serving Meals on Wheels.
Some of the great amusements in life for Kim included a great book, she was an avid reader; a hearty conversation, she was highly intelligent and well spoken, a well prepared dish, being a wonderful cook; and some great Bruce Springsteen music, she loved “The Boss.” She loved hearth and home, her precious dogs, camp fires, and entertaining. Quick witted, her good sense of humor was accompanied by a twinkle in the eye that drew others to her.
She will be very dearly missed by many close friends, and a family who she “kept together” with attention to details and great organizational skills. She even loved doing the laundry! She supported her children’s many activities, and was their most avid fan in all their accomplishments. Surviving Kim are husband John Winstanley Dimond IV, and children John “Jack” Winstanley Dimond V, Cameron Lane Dimond, and Chase Harrington Dimond; all of Longview. Also surviving Kim is sister Amy White and her husband Brandon, niece and nephew Shannon and Aaron of White Oak; and brother-in-law and his wife, Charles and Lyn Wright and nephews Jeremy and Jonathan Wright of Tyler.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 2 o’clock p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A time of visitation with the family will take place in the church Fellowship Hall after the service.
