Rita Ann (Mills) Bamberg, age 74 peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on April 25, 2024 at Pine Tree Lodge Nursing Home in Longview, Texas. Rita is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Anne (Bamberg) Barry and husband Tim. Read Obituary
We are blessed to have Brittany in our lives as well as all of her wonderful family, including her mama, Rita. Rita was a gracious and generous southern lady who loved the Lord and willingly served Him. I am sure she was greeted with “well done, my good and faithful servant!”
In spite of being hundreds of miles away, Brittany and Kevin loaded up the family car and headed to Longview to check on her mom numerous times.
I remember one trip up when we were able to remodel and rewire Rita’s home. Rita took us to see the Hot Air Balloons and we had a great time. In spite of being confined to a wheelchair, Rita loved life and brought joy to others. Thank you, Brittany , for sharing your mama. .

Rita was so positive, a light to everyone in this old world! I enjoyed crafts and coloring with her at Pune Tree. We enjoyed ice cream days with her and giggling at some of the crazy jokes she’d tell. Pam Shields, a friend of mine, was such a dear and good friend to Rita. Everytime she went to see Rita she would take her bananas, balloons, a plant, flowers, etc… anything to make her day a little brighter! Rita was a sweet, Christian woman. I could share many memories of Rita during our high school years & our church time together. We had such fun, sweet times together in band. She was always happy & a true friend. Praying for her family & sending hugs, love, & prayers.
