Richard "Dick" Williams' Obituary
The family and friends mourn the passing of a loving father, husband and PawPaw. Richard “Dick” Williams born on September 20, 1936 went to be with Jesus, his Savior, June 29 at 12:30 a.m. Leaving a wife, Carolyn Williams, two brothers, Pat Williams and Bob Williams, five children, Rick Williams, Roxi Gearhart, Wendy Hays, David Richardson and Susan Davis. He was blessed and loved by his sister-in laws and brother-in-laws, 9 grandchildren, Jason Richardson, Chris Davis, Amanda Richardson, Schuyler Johnson, Zachary Thompson, Timothy Hays, Riley Hays, Mollie Williams, Abby LeGrand and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Michael “Mike” Williams, Mother, Winifred Williams and Father, Leonard Williams.
His love for the game of Golf and being a member of P.G.A. lead him to develop the Ark-La-Tex Jr. Golf Tour. With over 400 thousand rounds of golf, giving up his summers was a way to develop the future of the sport which is growing by leaps and bounds. In 1999 he had 400 youngsters sign up as members. He was richly blessed by the difference they made in his life and hoped the same for all who participated.
Being a simple man, his request was to not have a funeral because of the virus and be cremated. Those wishing to show love by donations, in lieu of flowers, can donate to Forest Hill Baptist Church. A small but very powerful church that Dick loved dearly. 21858 FM 449 Longview, Tx 75605
