Richard "Rick" Donald McCrady Jr.'s Obituary
Richard “Rick” Donald McCrady, JR., was born on September 22, 1953, in St. Paul, MN., to Richard and Estella McCrady. He passed away suddenly on Friday, January 6, 2023, in Longview. Cremation arrangements are with Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will gather for a celebration of life at a later date.
Rick was a devoted husband, father, & grandfather. He had a beautiful deep voice and surprised us when he sang. Growing up he played football and baseball then became involved with his children's sports and loved to give pointers. He had an infectious laugh, gave the best hugs and always had good advice. Rick was a plumber & machinist by trade but after retirement he grew a passion for grilling and trying new recipes. He would fill the house with wonderful aromas when he cooked.
Rick was a hard working man who loved God and his family unconditionally. He will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary McCrady; children: Melissa and her husband Jay, Jarrod and his wife Jen, Marshall, Zach and Melody, Laura and her husband David, Kim and her husband Dennis; grandkids: Kayla, Hailey, Aislinn, Cayden, Jase, Emmarie, Carter, Giordan, Siena, Dominic, Calvin, Cannon, Amani & Rylan (all of which he teased and adored); his brothers: Pat and wife Kristin, Dan and wife Cathy, Mike and wife Diane, & John and wife Kathy; one sister: Sue and husband Harvey; many Nephews and Nieces (also whom he teased and adored); many friends and his close childhood friend and why we chose to live in Longview, JM. He also leaves behind Rico, who he loved tremendously, who turned out to be Rica after she all of a sudden started laying eggs when they moved to Longview (she's a Macaw).
