Richard Leon Efurd
Services for Richard Leon Efurd, 80, of Longview passed away Sunday March 20, 2005 in a local hospital. Born in Pittsburg, Texas in 1924, he was the son of Horace and Beatrice Efurd.
He was a graduate of Pittsburg High School and Tyler Commercial College. He retired from Texas Eastman Co. in 1986 after almost 30 years.
He proudly served in the United States Navy in World War 11 and is now registered in the World War 11 Memorial Registry. He was a member of Camille Acres Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Harold Efurd.
He is survived by his wife, Coy, a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Diane Efurd, a granddaughter, Allison Efurd all of Longview, and two nieces, Norma Candler of Shreveport, La.; and Jo Ann Thomas of College Station, TX.;
Funeral services will be held at Two O?clock pm Wednesday March 23, 2005 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road with Revs. Thomas Ayres and Joe McGraw officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday March 22, 2005 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
