Richard Clarence (R.C.) Judy, Jr.'s Obituary
Richard Clarence (R.C.) Judy, Jr. R.C. (Richard Clarence) Judy, Jr., age 93, is now at peace in his heavenly home with Jesus Christ his Savior. He left this earth on April 10, 2023. R.C. was born in Shreveport, LA on October 21, 1929, to Richard Clarence Judy, Sr., and Bertha Judy. R.C. was blessed to have two sisters, Clay Judy Cleary of Kilgore, Jean Judy Stuart of Houston, and a half-sister, Lucille Hadad Woods of Longview, all of which proceeded him in death.
More significant, he was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 74 years just 74 days earlier on January 26 of this year.
Also left to cherish their memories of R.C., are son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Carole Judy of Longview, TX along with son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Carol Judy of Spring, TX, as well as his four grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Surviving grandchildren include, Chris Judy of Dallas, Trey and Wendy Judy of The Woodlands, TX along with their children Maddox and Major, Jennifer and Jeff Peltier of Spring, TX, and their children Walker, Keatyn, and Kendyl, as well as Jeff and Chelsea Judy of Spring, TX.
R.C.'s pride and joy was his family. Many a great time were shared at the Judy household on Willow Drive in Longview. Gatherings and cookouts around the pool with his children and grandchildren are wonderful memories we will always have of Pawpaw.
Above all else, he dearly loved his wife of 74 years. After graduating from Kilgore High School in 1948, where he met his future wife, he immediately opened the Latex Fish Market, later Longview Fish & Oyster Company in Longview. He and Dee married on June 13, 1948 and they went on to own and operate Latex Fish Market / Longview Fish and Oyster Company for 55 years. They continued operating the company until R.C retired in 2003. They worked together and they enjoyed life together.
R.C. was deeply committed to his children's activities and loved sports. Much of his time was coaching them and following them to their various activities. Because both of his sons were heavily involved in sports, this was almost a fulltime job, but one he loved. He was so committed that he founded Longview Elks Football for Boys which he presided over for sixteen years. He never missed an event and continued to follow sports almost exclusively up until his passing. R.C. and Dee were lifetime members of First Baptist Church of Longview as well as Honorary Lifetime Members of the Longview BPOE Elks where they spent much of their time celebrating life with other members and friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and generous support from friends. We are also forever grateful to the caregivers at Parkview on Hollybrook and HeartsWay Hospice of East Texas for their daily care, love and respect for our wonderful father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather as well as their on-going support for all of the family through this difficult time. This phenomenal group of people were right beside us with care, hugs and above all, prayers throughout this journey.
Dad, we know you are listening from the heavens above. There’s nothing that we value more, than your love. No matter where we are or what we are doing, your memories will always keep us smiling. We miss you very much.
Private interment services and a celebration of his life to be held with the family at a later time. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
