Richard J. Phillips' Obituary
Richard J. Phillips, 68, of Longview, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 17, 2005. He was born March 3, 1936, in Niles, Ohio to James and Sadie Martin Phillips.
Rich enjoyed fishing, wood carving and story telling. He enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonicas and listening to various styles of music. He especially loved Christian hymns and songs.
A member of the First Assembly of God Church, Richard had been a resident of Longview for 4 ½ months coming from Brookfield, Ohio.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Highway 80 Rescue Mission or to Greater Hospice of Texas.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Nancy Henry Phillips of Longview; children, Daniel Canfield of Chattanooga, TN, Cindy Tesmer of Maple Heights, Ohio, Jay Brown and wife, Stephanie, of Laredo, TX, Jonathan Brown of Lennox, GA, Jesse Brown of Longview, Johanna Roberts and husband, Luke, of Longview; grandchildren, Ira Nicole Roberts, Tiffany Lyn Tesmer, Abby Lyn Tesmer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Kathleen Phillips of Honey Brook, PA, Tom Phillips and wife, Carol of Girard, OH, Allen and Mary Dee Phillips of Niles, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Gail Poorbaugh of Niles, OH; father-in-law and mother-in-law,
Lee and Mildred Henry of Longview; brother-in-law and spouse, David and Jane Henry of Longview; sisters-in-law, Debra Bennett of Longview, Kay and Ken Wright of Doylestown, PA.
A Celebration of the life of Richard J. Phillips will be 2 PM Friday, February 18, 2005 at First Assembly of God church with Reverend Randy Carter officiating.
