Richard Moss Haynie Jr.'s Obituary
Richard Moss Haynie Jr. pulled his final train car into the station this week as he boarded the express line to visit St. Peter. He will be greeted by his brother Walter B Haynie, his Dad (Pop) Richard Sr., his mom, and numerous friends and family, so we expect cheers and quite the party as that train arrives. His notorious brother in law Gary and Walter B no doubt have a spectacular prank waiting for him.
He fought hard against challenges with heart disease and cancer, but ultimately his body wasn't able to fight anymore. He's not in pain and he left on his own terms, surrounded by loved ones. He'll be remembered by his family, but also the scores of trainees that attended his safety classes over the years, his union brothers at IBEW 2337, and all the kids he shuffled via school bus on field trips. His laugh, his love of trying new food, and his imaginative and inquisitive nature were an inspiration to us all. We are comforted by knowing how many people loved him and how many lives he touched through his different roles as a father and mentor. He will be missed by his surviving siblings Theresa, Genevieve, Dolly, Laura, and Larry. He is survived by his wife Lenora, and her sons Allan and Terry Miller and their families. He is also survived by his sons Richard III, Charles, Luke, and Rory Haynie along with all of their families and his 6 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 12pm, Saturday May 13, 2023, at Danville Cemetery, Kilgore, TX. A time of viewing will be at Rader Funeral Home, Longview Friday May 12, 2023, from 6pm-8pm.
