Richard Floyd Aten's Obituary
Funeral services for Richard Floyd Aten, 65, of Henderson, will be held at 10a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson with Rev. Johnny Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at Rader Funeral Home.
Mr. Aten passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 in Longview. He was born August 15, 1947 in Scranton, PA to Carl and Lillian Mae Aten.
Richard married his wife Alice Jean Parfitt on November 30, 1968 in Factoryville, PA. He was a Field Operator for Conoco-Phillips for 24 years.
Rick loved RVing with his wife, visiting with family and friends and being a part of grand kids activities.
Mr. Aten is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Parfitt Aten of Henderson; son Richard J. Aten of Hazel Green, AL; son and daughter-in-law Raymond E. and Jessica Aten of Kilgore; daughter and son-in-law, Alisa L. and Greg Greer of Henderson; son and daughter-in-law, Alan R. and Lindsey Aten of Henderson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl B. Aten Jr. & wife Lee of Clearwater, FL., Irv & wife Anna Aten of Nicholson, PA, Melvin & wife Agnes Aten of Factoryville, PA, Russell Aten of Berlin, MA, Ronald & wife Nancy Aten of Adams Center, N.Y., Gerald & wife Rebecca Aten of Factoryville, PA, Edward Aten of Endfield, CT; sister, Elena McAndrew & husband Marty of Factoryville, PA, Tina McGurl & husband Jim of Clarks Summit, PA; grandkids, Michael, Hannah and Christopher Aten, Desirae, Lilia & Holly Greer, Treston & Ashely Golay, Anderson and Vera Aten, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Richard Aten, Raymond Aten , Alan Aten, Greg Greer, Keith Childers, Angel Romero.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, Full Armor Christian Academy or The Salvation Army.
