Richard Douglas Martin, Sr.
Funeral services for Richard Douglas Martin, Sr., 86, of Longview will be held at Ten O?clock AM Friday November 16, 2007 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road with Reverend Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Martin departed from this life November 12, 2007 surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Martin was born March 11, 1921, in Corsicana, Texas to Joseph and Maude Martin. He served in the U. S. Army during World War ll, retired from Texas Eastman in 1986, and was a long-time resident of Longview where he followed the Longview Lobo football team since 1945. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Longview.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his brothers Roy and Bo, and his sister Jo.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Helen of Longview; daughter Michele Martin of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Kristal Martin of Gilmer; and grandchildren, Jonathan, Paul, Jared, Maddison, and Karson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday November 15, 2007 from 6pm until 8 pm.
