Richard T. "Dick" Callison's Obituary
Graveside services for Richard “Dick” Callison, 81, of Longview, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler with the Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at Pine Tree Lodge.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born August 21, 1933, in San Angelo to Edwin Callison and Katheryn Chaney. Mr. Callison retired from General Tire and Rubber Co. in Dallas, and was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Longview.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Lounell Callison, parents, Edwin Callison and Katheryn Chaney, and his maternal grandparents, Newt and Etta Arrowood.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Kathy Witherspoon and husband Jay of Austin, Steve Callison and wife Debbie of Quitman, Margay Callison of Longview, and David Callison and wife Lisa of Grand Prairie; beloved grand-daughter Aliecia Callison who he helped to raise; seven additional beloved grandchildren Laura, Michael, Melissa, Scott, Christie, Joseph, and Travis.; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4425 W. Airport Freeway, Suite 130, Irving, 75062.
