Richard A. Trivelpiece's Obituary
Richard A. "Dick" Trivelpiece
Richard A. "Dick" Trivelpiece died June 24 at Good Shepherd Medical Center with his wife, Bonnie, and daughter, Gail at his side.
Mr. Trivelpiece was born November 18, 1934 in Nescopeck, PA to Clyde and Mildred Kember Travelpiece. He attended schools there and later served as a cook in the US Army. In 1975, he married the former Bonnie Shaffer and moved to Lightstreet, PA.
In 1979, Richard and his wife moved to Longview where he worked as Production Superintendent for DataCom. He later worked at Fleetwood and played on their winning softball team, the Fleetwood Max, until age 7.
After retirement, Richard was often seen at area lakesides where he loved to fish and feed the herons. Friends also discovered he was difficult to beat at card or pool games. He was an adoring husband, a wonderful father, and a doting grandfather; and was much loved by his family, friends, and beloved cat, Henry.
Richard is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Gail Graham Battle and John of Troup; son, Robert Graham of Bloomsburg, PA; and granddaughter, Kimberly Hock Smith and Scott of Cincinnati, OH. He is also survived by a brother, Earl Dee of Berwick, PA and a sister, Marie Beilharz of Muncy, PA. He was preceded by his brother, Robert.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 27, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road in Longview. Friends wishing to make a charitable contribution in Richard's memory are asked to consider the American Heart Association.
