Rev. Oscar L. Kennedy's Obituary
Funeral services for Reverend Oscar L. Kennedy, 90, of Longview, will be 2 PM Saturday at the Longview Missionary Baptist Church with Reverends John Mooney, Curtis Hall and Noah Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery, Cass County, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM Friday.
Reverend Kennedy went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26.
He was born July 24, 1912 in Titus County, Texas and had lived in Longview since 1967 moving from Gainesville, Texas. Rev. Kennedy was a Missionary Baptist Minister and pastor for 48 years. Most of his pastorate was served in the East Texas area.
Reverend Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Henry and brother in law: Howard Webster.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ola Mae Cox Kennedy, Sons and daughters in Law: Robert Earl Bob and Earlene Jacobs Kennedy and Jerry Dan and Deborah Ledbetter Kennedy; Seven 7 Grandchildren and Ten 10 Great Grandchildren; Brother and Sister in law: William and Joyce Kennedy of Mesquite; Sisters and Brothers in law: Maggie and Claude Daniels of Paris, Leatha and Ray Hall of Linden and Mildred Webster of Daingerfield.
