Reverend John H. Williams
Services for Reverend John H. Williams, 82, of Longview will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, February 27, 2010 in the Memory Park Mausoleum Chapel with Troy Williams officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 24, at The Clairmont in Longview.
Reverend Williams was born October 18, 1927 in Carthage, TX to Herbert and Velma Williams. He was a minister and an evangelist, and he was the Pastor of the First Church of God in Longview. His ministry spanned 53 years, and included Indiana, Kansas, Illinois and Texas and he was involved in home missions in Hawaii. He was a former member of the State Board of Ministers in Texas and was an avid athlete.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ralph and Ray; and sister Naomi Perritt.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Margie Williams of Longview; children, Sandra Liska and husband Don of Mesa, AZ, Judy Futch and husband Ray of Longview, John M. Williams of Longview, Kathy Krewson of Kilgore, David Williams and wife Robin of Ft. Meyers, FL and Jim Williams and wife Debbie of Bullard, TX; brother, Troy Williams of Tyler; sisters, Doris Giles of Longview and Annette Paulk of Hallsville; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren..
There will be a special memorial to celebrate his life and ministry Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the First Church of God on the Spring Hill Cut Off in Longview.
