Reva Haley Paull's Obituary
Reva Haley Paull, 82, of Longview, Texas, passed away on October 26, 2023 after battling a lengthy illness. Her loving family surrounded her as she left this earth to be welcomed into heaven by her precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Reva was born on June 10, 1941 to Ronald and Artie Haley in Hargill, Texas. Reva attended Edinburg schools and Pan American College. She worked some in retail, and administrative work at The Clairmont nursing home.
Reva met the love of her life, Ray Paull and wed in May of 1959 going on to have three children, Joni, Allison and Darrell. Reva made a home for the family in Alice, Texas, Lake Charles, Louisiana, College Station and finally Longview.
Reva devoted her life to being an extraordinary wife and mother. She was an interior decorator extraordinaire making everything she touched beautiful. Her words were full of wisdom, and her advice will be missed.
In addition to being an extraordinary decorator, she was an excellent baker, cake decorator and cook. Sewing and even cutting her children’s hair did not scare her. Gardening was another passion of hers, favoring her favorite flower, hydrangeas. All holidays at her house were beautifully and seasonally decorated making them all magical – especially Christmas. Christmas at her house made one believe in the magic of Christmas.
Reva was active in her community by participating in the Winterfield Garden Club, Longview Forum, Beta Sigma Phi sorority where she was chapter sweetheart many times, and, volunteered in the Christus Good Shepherd Auxiliary, working in the gift shop for many years, also serving as past President. She served as President of the Bryan - College Station chapter of the American Petroleum Institute Petroleum Wives Club. Reva loved her church home, Mobberly Baptist, where she had many friends she loved dearly. Her faith in Jesus Christ was strong and apparent to all she met.
Being an avid reader, she exceled at crossword puzzles, scrabble and could play a mean game of cards with her Friday card-playing girls. Most of all, Reva loved her family, especially the babies. She loved holding, bathing and talking to them. She made time for tea parties with the little girls and sledding on trash can lids with the boys if snow was on the ground.
Reva was preceded in death by her parents and four of her eight siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Ray Paull, children, Joni Elms, Allison Benton and Darrell Paull (Leslie), eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service for this beautiful soul will be held at Mobberly Baptist Church in the parlor on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 10:30 am with Scott Schulik presiding over the ceremony.
