Retired 1st Sgt. Jerry Wayne Emmel's Obituary
Funeral services for Retired 1st Sergeant Jerry Wayne Emmel, 58, of East Mountain, will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2005 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd, with Reverend Albert Murdoch officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Jerry was born January 24, 1947 in Gregg County, TX to Fred T. and Florence Ethel Morrow Emmel. Mr. Emmel served his country in the US Army from
1967-1989. Jerry served two tours in Viet Nam, being wounded twice; two tours in Korea and three tours in Germany.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vicky of East Mountain; children and their spouses, Lisa Kyle and Gus of Logansport, LA, Melody Huddleston of Mansfield, TX, Robin Emmel Sanchez and Fernando of Longview; Chuck Fisk and wife, Shannon of Gilmer, TX and Danny Fisk of Jefferson, TX; he is also survived by three brothers and one sister, including, Fred Emmel of Longview and Steve Emmel of Diana; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM and have asked that memorial donations be made to the VFW Post 4002, 401 Ambassador Row, Longview, Texas 75606.
