My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mrs. Welge was my VOE teacher in 1979-1981 at Crockett High School. She taught with such grace and love. She was a pillar for the entire VOE program and it obviously shows by looking at her guestbook. She has made a tremendous impact in many peoples' lives and that is what God wants each and every one of us to do while we are in our earthly bodies. Dear Jack & Ava,
I was reminded of many wonderful memories when I read that Virginia had died. She dropped out of Grandmother's Delight Group a long time ago, but we knew she was surrounded with love near her son and his family. Her Mother, Mrs Hunger, was one of the 2 Great Grandmothers we adopted when we started the group 22 years ago. I also had a bridal party here for Jack and Ava when they were engaged.
After Jim Lindeman died, I married a long time friend Bryan Snyder III and we have 18 grandchildren. Still keeping busy and happy at 3403 Westledge Circle Austin 78731.
Jack, If you see this, do get in touch with me and give us the latest about your two daughters. Also a big HUG for Ava too. Know she is also doing well, but sorry to have lost touch. Mrs. Welge was my home room teacher at Austin High School in 1949 and 1950. She was a wonderful caring person. She advised me to pursue an engineering degree which I did at the University of Texas. I will always remember her as my favorite teacher.

One of the bright shining stars of Business Education has left us with the passing of this dear lady. Mrs. Welge was my Cooperating Teacher when I did my student teaching at Travis High School in the '60s. She really made me work hard but so often I have been thankful for what she taught me and how often I have remembered her as a special person in my life. My teaching career was based on the things she taught me and the energy she inspired in me. I know she leaves many fond memories for hundreds. Regina Welge--there are no business teachers like her any more! I have fond memories of many years with her at Crockett High School. I, too, owe so much to Mrs. Welge. I was also in her VOE program in 1973-74. My first "real" job was at TEA. Little did I know then, that the job would continue, helping me financially while I attended UT. Today, I, too, am a Business teacher--teaching to my students not only employable skills, but work ethics as well. Many times I have thought about Mrs. Welge--and about her very strong influence on me both as an individual and in my career choice. I am still very dedicated to the concepts and objectives that the work programs have in education today. She will forever be important to me. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Your mother/grandmother was a beautiful women in so many ways.

I was in Mrs. Welge's VOE program in 1974-75 at Crockett High School. I learned so much from her. Through VOE, I started working for the Texas Employment Commission. In my career, I also had the privilege of working in the Appeals Department with Mr. Welge. I feel blessed to have known both of them.

Mrs. Welge was a wonderful teacher and she truly cared about all of her students. She was a special person.

We were saddened to read of Mrs. Welge's illness and passing. She was one of our favorite teachers at Travis High School in the late 1950's.
