Mrs. Regina D. Akins' Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Regina Diane Akins announces her passing after a long battle with cancer, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the age of 63 years.
Regina was born in Galveston TX, and lived in the Houston area during her early adult life. She lived in Longview, TX, with her husband and children since 1991. Regina was a mainstay at McLendon Cleaners in Longview where she worked for 25 years.
Regina is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Henry, and her children, Colette (Kevin) Fourman, Lee (Diana) Bobbitt, and Henry Akins, Jr. She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren Zachary, Curtis, Ashley, Dakota, Austin, Cody, and Jalen, and eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings, Macey (Gabriela) Contreras, Genaro (Sheryl) Contreras, Cathy (David) Birdsley, Bobby (Aline) Contreras, and Augie (Elizabeth) Contreras.
She was preceded in death by her two children, Emma and Charley.
Viewing will be 5pm-7pm, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. The funeral will be Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lee Berger presiding. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park.
