I met her in Daingerfield during her teaching days. I think she met you during that time.

I remember Rebecca’s smile, first and foremost and how her eyes seemingly twinkled. Her laugh was contagious. She was quiet and gentle and I loved her very much. Her place in this world cannot be filled by anyone else.❤️🙏

Rebecca was like a second mom to me growing up. She was even at my birth. She created a home that was welcoming to everyone, and I sure spent a lot of time at the Newton home. She would even share her massive collection of ferns with us, my mom and I would come dig them up from the front yard to add to our yard. She was an incredible mom and woman. Sending love to all the Newton’s from the Scobee family. 💕

I had the amazing privilege of working with Rebecca at events for the Longview Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the Northeast Texas Tourism Council. She was a true go-getter and more than a pleasure to work with. Her laughter was contagious, her stories captivating, and I am grateful that God loaned her to us. Prayers for her husband, family, and the many, many lives she touched.
We'll miss you, Rebecca!
