Josh McNamara, Bro. Jimmy Jones, and Bro. Tony Harp. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Reba was embraced by her Heavenly Father on January 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a lengthy illness. This date also marks the anniversary of her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Jessie Calvin ‘J.C.’ Fyffe, with whom she shared 36 beautiful years. Born on May 15, 1948, in Logansport, Louisiana, to Denzil and Geneva Yount, Reba cherished fishing, traveling, and helping those around her. She found joy in reading daily Bible verses, morning prayers, listening to gospel music, and watching the hummingbirds and red birds. Reba accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the tender age of 13, during a baptism in Mrs. Lennie Hatcher’s pond, alongside her sister, Shirley, and 15 others in Converse, Louisiana. She was a devoted member of Longview Missionary Baptist Church.
Reba is preceded in death by her parents, Denzil and Geneva Yount; her husband, J.C. Fyffe; her son-in-law, Benny Edwards; sisters Joy Cotton, Linda Latham, and Doris Roach; and granddaughter Ashley Fyffe.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Edwards of Longview; sons Johnny Fyffe and wife Patsy of Hallsville, and David Fyffe of Longview; sister Shirley Barton of Texarkana, Texas; brother Dennis Yount and wife Wanda of Hugo, Oklahoma; and a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren include Bryan Edwards and wife Crystal, Amanda Edwards, Carlton Fyffe and wife Laura, Corey Fyffe, Grant Goodin, Dustin Fyffe, Nicolas Fyffe and wife Morgan, and Justin Adams. Great-grandchildren are Elizabeth Edwards, Olivia Fyffe, Trevor Fyffe, Teghen Goodin, Tevin Goodin, and Nicolas Fyffe Jr. Reba is also survived by sisters-in-law Joyce Hidalgo, Jeanette Fenton and husband Royce, Carolyn Allen, and Dorothy Wages, all of Longview, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Though she may be gone from this world, Reba will forever remain in our hearts.
