Ray Darwin Sparks' Obituary
Funeral services for Ray Darwin Sparks, 50, of Longview, will be held 10 AM Thursday, April 18, 2002 in the Chapel of the Rader Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Magdaleno officiating. Interment will follow at 2 PM at the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Texas with Reverend Van Patton officiating.
Ray had been a resident of Longview since 1985 coming from Mt. Pleasant.
He was born April 4, 1952 in Wills Point, Van Zandt County, TX to Pat Darwin Sparks
and Jackie Lanell Crow Sparks. He was a member of the Baptist church and worked for
Waukesha-Pearce in Kilgore as a mechanic and was greatly involved in his son?s Longview Hot Wheels in-line hockey league.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM.
Ray was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew Darwin Sparks and is survived by his wife, Susan Sparks of Longview; son, Josh Sparks of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and James Johnson of Houston; stepson, Cole Branam of Connecticut; parents, Jackie Williams of Mt. Pleasant and Pat & Norma Sparks of Mt. Vernon; brother and sister-in-law, David and Edie Sparks of Mt. Vernon; sisters, Vicki Bryant of Houston, Tiffany Williams of Mt. Pleasant; stepsister and husband, Glenna and John Meadows
of Mt. Pleasant; stepbrother and wife, Steve and Barbie Lawler of Benton, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Katherine Doane of Carrollton, TX; brother-in-law and wife, Mackey and Karen Beach of Ft. Worth and various nieces and nephews.
