Ralph Carroll Grainger
Memorial services for Ralph Carroll Grainger, 85, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Longview with Dr. Pat Sparks and the Reverends Dick Sawyer, David Lindwall and Mike Schutz officiating. Private interment will be in Rosewood Park. He passed away, Monday, September 14, 2009 in a Longview hospital.
Mr. Grainger was born April 1, 1924 in Hughes Springs, TX to Harry and Jennie Mae Grainger. He had been a resident of Longview since 1978. He was a former resident of Marshall and retired from Morton Thiokol after 33 years services where he was the director of human resources. While living in Marshall, he was a involved in numerous civic and community organizations. He was a member of the Marshall Masonic Lodge. Mr. Grainger was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Longview.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Theron Grainger.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Merle "Candy" Grainger of Longview; sons, Frank Grainger and Dr. Steven Grainger and wife Sheila all of Longview; granddaughters, Deanna Lalich and husband Mark and their children, Logan and Natalie of San Marcos, TX, and Jennifer Jackson and husband Sam of New Summerfield, TX; and grandson, Patrick Grainger of Tyler.
