Randy Darrell Wilson's Obituary
Randy Darrell Wilson
On June 12, 1955, Randy Darrell Wilson was born in Overton, Texas to H. Darrell and Jean Wilson. After battling cancer for the last five years, he went to be with his Lord Jesus on December 18, 2015.
After graduating from Longview High School in 1973, he furthered his education at TSTI in Waco, and received his degree in refrigeration and cooling. He retired from Texas Eastman after many years as a lubrication specialist.
He loved to brag on his grown daughters and their families. He was so proud of the loving, responsible parents they were. His grandchildren were his delight. His eyes twinkled when he’d tell of their sports, school and funny antics.
Randy was pleased to help his mother after his dad died, and he enjoyed being able to stop by and eat with her when he could.
The synonym for Randy could have been “friend”. He was a devoted friend who was always there when he was needed.
He was preceded in death by his father, H. Darrell Wilson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Heather Shay Gatlin and husband Wayne and Halee’ Nicole Brooks; grandchildren, Maizie Gatlin, Zowie Gatlin, Kimber Brooks and Barrett Brooks; his mother, Jean Wilson; sister, Vicky Jean Wilson Waldie and husband John; nieces, Jana Waldie Simmons and husband Tim and Laura Waldie Isaac and husband Keith; 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Southwestern Regional Medical Center, 10109 E. 79th St., Tulsa, OK 74133.
