Randall Allen Andrews' Obituary
Randall Allen Andrews was born on December 16, 1949, in Longview, Texas, to Harold Allen Andrews and Bessie Schaffer Andrews. He passed away on April 13, 2026, at the age of 76.
Randy was a lifelong resident of Longview and a proud graduate of Longview High School, Class of 1968. He continued his education at East Texas State University, where he graduated in 1972 with a degree in business. On June 8, 1973, Randy married the love of his life, Joy Chapman Andrews. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family, sharing nearly 53 years of marriage. Randy devoted 52 years to the banking industry. He began his career at Longview National Bank as a runner, a role he often said was his favorite job he ever had. In 1981, he joined what is now Texas Bank & Trust, where he faithfully served until his retirement in 2020 as Executive Vice President. His dedication, leadership, and steady presence left a lasting impact on colleagues and the community he served. Randy was deeply involved in his community. He was a longtime member and elder of Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he faithfully attended until his health problems made it too difficult. Randy spent 15 years coaching his sons' baseball teams, creating lasting memories both on and off the field. He also gave generously of his time as a United Way volunteer for 23 years. In addition, he was a member of the Civitan Club, the Optimist Club, the ARC of Gregg County, and Longview AMBUCS.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joy Andrews; his sons, Jay Randall Andrews and Misti Smith of White Oak, Texas, and James Allen and Amy Critelli Andrews of Argyle, Texas. As well as his grandchildren Ellie and Asher Andrews, brother-in-law Jimmy Chapman and many loved cousins.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Buckner Westminster Place and HeartsWay Hospice for their compassionate care. and a huge thank you to his very special friend, Sharon Lott. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Longview AMBUCS, HeartsWay Hospice, or Buckner Westminster Place.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at noon. The family will receive friends from 11 am to noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Bridges Cemetery in the Chapman Community.
