Randal Webb "Randy" Langham's Obituary
The Almighty God completed His work in the life of Randal Webb Langham, 65, on the evening of Wednesday May 16, 2018. Randy passed from this life to his new home in heaven in perfect peace with his family by his side.
Over the years, we were blessed to learn many life lessons from Randy. Things like: how to persevere the trials of life with grace and dignity, how to stand when you’ve done all you can do, how to walk daily in a relationship with Jesus Christ, and how to be steadfast, confident, and never wavering in your values and beliefs.
Professionally, Randy worked in the software industry and developed applications for civil government, telecommunications, and the petroleum industry. Personally, he had a passion for history and toured the Civil War Battlefields in Vicksburg, MS more times than anyone could count. He also loved sports and was an avid Texas Longhorns and Texas Rangers fan. Over the last year, Randy enjoyed riding his motorcycle and made many bike trips through the beautiful landscapes of East Texas. Randy loved southern gospel music and was an accomplished musician. He played bass guitar at Abundant Life Church in Gladewater, TX where we was a faithful member. But Randy’s greatest pride was found in his six grandchildren. He loved having the grandchildren in his home and it was rare that you would ever talk to Randy without him bragging on his “grands.” His smile would truly light up the room when his “grands” were around.
Randy is preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Louise Langham, his brother Earl Ray Langham, and his sister Jan Commins. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Barbara Langham, his daughter April Stroman and her husband Gene, his daughter Brandi Hammett and her husband Brandon, his sister Brenda Cross and her husband Jerry, and six grandchildren: Colton Stroman, Katelyn Lambert, Gracyn Stroman, Brooklyn Stroman, Annie Stroman, and Breelyn Hammett as well many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Services for Randy will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at 10am. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday May 18th, 2018.
